162,475. Harper, W. J. Feb. 28, 1920. Air iubes and chambers. -A sectional pneumatic tyre consists of air-tube segments 2 in separate covers 10 having closed ends and beaded edges 9 engaging flanged metal &c. carriers 1. The latter are formed with dovetail projections 6 adapted to slide under wedge-shaped ribs 5 on the wheel rim 3. The tyre segments are fitted with separate inflating- valves 4, and are secured on the wheel by side flanges 7 (continuous or segmental) and transverse bolts.
