Tabular calculators. - In a weighing scale which automatically indicates, at both sides of the machine, the total cost of the goods corresponding to the setting of the price per unit weight, the cost figures are carried upon a band furnished with the same figures on each side and wound upon two rollers, the band being positively adjusted simultaneously with the setting of the price per unit weight. The band c, bearing the cost figures, is wound upon rollers a, b and is guided round rods z, z<1>, z<2>, z<3>, Fig. 2, so as to display its figures through windows w, x at opposite sides of the machine. The rollers are connected by a chain q or by gear wheels and are actuated to bring the requisite cost figures into view by means of handles u, v attached to chains s, t which are connected to the rollers 'by a chain r and intermediate gearing. Scales adjacent the handles u, v facilitate their setting according to the price per unit weight. The digits of each cost indication on the band are disposed one below another as shown in Fig. 1 to avoid crowding. A series of lines m between the indicating pointer p and the window w facilitate the reading of the cost values. Adjustable screens may be provided for obscuring the cost figures not required. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), states also that instead of forming part of a weighing scale, the indicating arrangement described above may form a separate unit for use by the side of a weighing scale. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
