Chimney and ventilating- shaft tops.-Cowls for chimneys, ventilating-shafts, and the like comprising superimposed cones 2', 3 and conical cap 1 fixed inside a shield 6, are arranged with the lower most cone 3 extending above and below the mouth of the cowl shaft 4 by which it is supported, and the brackets 5, carrying the cones, extend to the bottom of the lowermost cone. The shield 6 surrounds only the upper part of the lowermost cone, and at its lower end between the brackets 5 is provided with flared openings 7. The shield may be of cylindrical, square or hexagonal form.
