Abstract

254,424. Burch, C. R., Davis, N. R., and Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd. April 18 ,1925. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Thermionic generators of the kind in which the plate supply current is fed through a choke coil, have the oscillatory circuit connected to an adjustable point on this coil, or on a separate choke coil shunted across the plate and filament. As shown in Fig. 2, the grid coil 18 is back-coupled to a coil 17 in the plate supply circuit, and the oscillatory circuit 10, 11 is connected through a condenser 14 to an adjustable tapping on the coil 17. The plate of the valve may be connected to an intermediate point, or to one end, of the coil 17. As shown in Fig. 4, the grid coil 18 is coupled to a choke coil 20, connected in series with a condenser 14 between the plate and filament. The plate connection may be at an intermediate or end point of the choke 20, and the oscillatory circuit 10, 11 is adjustably connected to the choke. An adjustable step-up or stepdown effect between the valve and the load cir- .cuit is thus provided, and the adjustment can be effected at or near the valve although the load circuit is at a distance therefrom. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 207,265 and 240,848.
