Abstract

700,453. Saw - tooth generating circuits. MURPHY RADIO, Ltd., SMITH, R. B., and FAIRHURST, H. A. Oct. 28, 1949 [Oct. 28, 1948], No. 28029/48. Class 40 (6) In a saw tooth current generator of the type comprising a screen grid valve having a transformer coupling the anode and screen grid circuits, adjustable means are provided for generating an induced voltage in the screen grid circuit as a result of a diminution of the rate of rise of anode current or diminution of screen grid current towards the end of the long flank of the saw tooth wave. This induced voltage increases the length of the long flank. The induced voltage may be provided by a variable inductor 10 in the screen grid lead, by an additional transformer with a variable core coupling the anode or screen grid circuits or by the existing transformer. In the latter case the transformer has an adjustably tapped secondary or an adjustable core. Damping resistors may be connected in series with or across the additional inductor and a synchronizing signal may be applied to the control grid of the valve. The screen grid may be connected to a positive H.T. supply. Specification 643,993 is referred to.
