253,828. Fairweather, W. C., (Continental Motors Corporation). Feb. 11, 1926. Valve gear. - A sleeve valve 18 receives combined reciprocatory and oscillatory motion from a lever 43 pivoted at 44 and connected by an arm 40 to an inclined or wobble crank 36 formed on a shaft 25. Spherical joints are provided at 42 and 44, and at its end 46 the lever 43 slides through a spherical member 47 mounted in a socket 48 on the valve. In multi-cylinder engines, inclined cranks 36 are arranged on the shaft 25 in positions alongside the several cylinders and so as to correspond to the requisite order of firing. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 264.132 and 277,035.
