Abstract

253,219. Duit Engineering Co., Ltd., Friar, T. D., and Holdcroft, J. F. March 17, 1925. Compressed-air engines. - A compressed air engine comprises radial, detachable, interchangeable cylinders a, secured to a casing f by bolts arranged parallel to the cylinder axes and secured to cylinder ends m. Single ports o communicating through lateral passages p with Y-shaped pipes q<1>, q are provided in the ends m. The pipes q<1>, q are alternately put into communication with inlet and outlet passages by a rotary valve r formed or mounted on the driving-shaft d. A flywheel w, or a toothed or sprocket wheel or pulley for transmitting power, is provided on the shaft. The supply is automatically controlled by plugs 2, connected to a sleeve element y secured to the flywheel u by links carrying a centrifugal weight w.
