Abstract

252,634. Beckerich, P. Dec. 11, 1925. Bodies.-In an automobile body wherein two doors are hinged back to back on to the same upright or pillar, the pillar a has a T-section, the steam b of which is directed towards the exterior and is formed at the points where the doors are hinged with two bent wings c, Figs. 2 and 5, terminated by the hinge barrels d, while the doors e are provided with complementary angled fittings f, Fig. 10, carrying the hinge-pins g, a joint-covering member i being attached to the stem b and flanged at both sides so as to co-operate with cover strips j on the doors to conceal the joints. The angled fittings f are provided at their centres with abutment. pieces h adapted to pass through recesses n in the wings c and to abut against the outer surfaces of the wings, as shown in Fig. 4, to prevent the door from moving through an angle greater than 90‹.
