Abstract

323,313. Riley, W. J. Nov. 14, 1928. Rattling of doors, preventing. - Rattling of vehicle doors against their frames is prevented by a rectangular or othershaped projection j on one part adapted to be gripped between two spaced resilient rollers a held in metal or like tubular shells on the other part. The, rollers consist of rubber rings with inner and outer metal bearing shells d, c, mounted on parallel studs e between the base and lugs of the metal housing f. A spring or rubber pad l may be secured to the base of the housing to engage the projection and thereby to hold the door against its fastening. The fitting may be applied to sliding doors or to the hinged edges, the projection in the latter case being curved to ensure easy engagement. The metal shells are burred over the rubber to fix it in position.
