Abstract

252,585. Crowcroft, A. Aug. 19, 1925. Charging.-Apparatus for feeding fuel to furnaces comprises a rotating member arranged at the base of a hopper A and consisting of a number of discs B mounted on a hexagonal shaft K. Each disc is provided with five compartments, the compartments being arranged in advance of those of an adjacent disc. As the fuel enters the shoot C it is met by a blast of air from a fan or other blowing device supplied at N. The fuel passes through a portion D of the shoot having diverging grooves for spreading the fuel over the fire. The shoot may be closed by a curved damper F.
