Abstract
251,012. Paralite Compositions Co., Ltd., and Valon, W. A. M. Jan. 21, 1925. Condensers. - Electric condensers of fixed capacity are produced by securing the plate elements to an insulating base a by means of the contact pins or terminal screws d, the base then being placed in a mould and incorporated in a block of insulating material at which is applied in a powdered or plastic condition and consolidated under the application of pressure and heat. The base may be made of the same material as the remainder of the insulating block which may for example be " Bakelite " or vulcanitie, and may be formed bv partial treatment under heat and pressure prior to being placed in the mould, the, treatment being completed during incorporation of the base in the block. Particulars of pressure, temperature and duration of treatment at different stages for different materials are given in the Specification. The screws d may ba arranged to screw into the base a or they may be provided with collars inserted into plain holes in the base. The base may be laid on the bottom of the mould which is provided with recesses to receive the screws d and when a base of different material from the remainder of the block is emploved, grooves or recesses may be formed on the faces of the base to ensure that it shall be incorporated in the block during the final moulding operation.
