Abstract

249,986. Gold, W. H. Feb. 24, 1925. Vaporizing-apparatus. - A vapour burner for liquid-fuel stoves comprises a straight vertical vaporizing tube 5 communicating at one end with the fuel reservoir and at the other with a superheater chamber 6 fitted with two depending tubes 13 connected by a bridge-piece 12 carrying the vapour nipple 11. The vapour issuing from the nipple 11 passes through a tube 6<a> to a space between the top of the chamber 6 and a domed cap 15. The cap 15 is formed with didcharge apertures 15<a> the flames from which impinge on a flange 4<a> on the burner-head. The tube 5 communicates with the fuel reservoir through a right-angled tube 7 which is fitted in its horizontal limb with a screwed plug 10 having an extended shank 10<a> substantially filling the bore of the tube so as to cause the fuel to follow a circuitous path. The ends of the bridge-piece 12 and tubes 13 are provided with screw plugs 12<a>, 13a which are removable for cleaning purposes and the vapour nipple is fitted with means for clearing its orifice operable through pin-andslot mechanism by a lever 14.
