Abstract
202,484. Tilley, F. C. July 20, 1922. Atmospheric vapour burners; vaporizing-apparatus. - A vapour burner comprises a vertical vaporizing-tube A, provided with a pressed nipple B, spun or pressed into its upper end, and screwed at its lower end to a tubular attachment C, having a reduced portion F provided with holes G and a central recess to receive the lower end of a guide tube H held centrally in the tube A by a spider 1. A wire J carrying or formed with a clearing needle on its upper end passes through the tube H and its enlarged lower end K is pressed by a spring L against a ball M resting on an eccentric N of an operating spindle P carried by a fitting D connecting the attachment C to an oil reservoir or supply pipe. A mixing-tube R is supported by an internal flange R<1> on the upper end of the tube A and is provided with one or more downwardly depending branches T provided with burner nozzles U and mantles V, or the heating burner described in Specification 181,806 may be employed.
