247,727. Milham, H. Feb. 2, 1925. Locking by frictional detents; actuated or applied by springs or weights.-In a brake for trucks, barrows, &c, a lever 8 carrying a brake block 13 applied by a weight 16 on the other end o<2> the lever, or by a spring, passes through a slot 14 having an offset portion 18 in which the lever is inserted when the brake is out of action. When the brake is in action, the lever is in the offset portion 17. The brake may act on the leading wheel of a milk-cart, the lever 8 being pivoted to a bracket 10 carried by the wheel springs. In a modification adapted for a perambulator, two brake blocks acting on the leading wheels are mounted one at each end of a transversely disposed rotatable rod to which the weighted lever is attached.
