Abstract

247,452. Koerner, E. June 26, 1925. Machine cutters, grinding in situ.-The fly cutter of a cigarette making machine, comprising discs 1 supporting blades 2 with eccentric cutting edges, is sharpened during its operative rotation by a grinding-disc 7, which is reciprocated axially, to keep the face 7<a> of the disc in contact with the cutting-edge, by a cam 8 mounted on the shaft 13 of the disc and moved by its engagement with a roller 9 carried by a stationary pivot. A grinding-roller, operating with its peripheral surface, may be used instead of the disc, the roller being reciprocated transversely of its axis.
