Abstract

Commutator switching arrangements; electrolytic cells, arrangements of; vacuum or lowpressure apparatus, arrangements of.-The ends XZ of the' secondary of a transformer are connected to the brushes c, d of a synchronously running commutator a, b, the brushes e, f of which are connected to terminals g, h between which 12-volt storage batteries can be charged. The mid-point 7 of the secondary is connected to a terminal j, between which and either terminal g or h 6-volt batteries can be charged. A polarity indicator and reversing switch can be included in the output circuit in case the commutator is started 180 out of phase. A nodon valve or thermionic valve may be used instead of the commutator.
