Abstract
368,258. Battery charging ; commutator switching arrangements. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON, 33, Kungsgatan, and AHLBERG, C. F., 90, Kungsgatan, Stockholm, Sweden. Oct. 28, 1930, No. 32411. [Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv).] Low voltage batteries are charged from D.C. mains by current impulses through a condenser K through a vibrating switch member P, as shown in the Figure, making contact with the mains N + N - in turn, the current impulses passing through the condenser K and rectifier circuit L<1>-L<4> and the battery B. Contact with the positive main N + allows an impulse to pass to the battery through the coil M which moves the member P on to the negative main. The condenser K then discharges through the battery B. Various embodiments are described in which one side of the battery is earthed, charged through a transformer &c.
