[Class 53.] In order to prevent electrical contact between one set of plates p of an accumulator and the bridge piece b connecting the other set, the distance rings e on the bridge piece are covered with insulating rings f. At the end of the set of plates the ring e is replaced by the terminal lug which may be covered with insulating material and which extends downwards insufficiently to make contact with the plate beneath it.
