Abstract

245,556. Fuller's United Electric Works, Ltd., and Welch, A. P. Nov. 14, 1924. Electromagnetic interrupters; diaphragm horns.-In interrupters for electric horns, bells &c., an auxiliary winding a connected at its ends to the make and break contacts c, d is provided on the armature b. When the contacts c, d are closed, the winding a is shortcircuited, and current flows through the winding f of the electromagnet e. The armature b is thereby attracted, contacts c, d separate and current flows through the winding a producing a field opposing the field of the magnet e and causing a more rapid return of the armature b. Sparking at the contacts c d is also eliminated. The invention is shown applied to an electric horn.
