Abstract
245,542. Hawkins, W. G. Oct. 22, 1924. Dispensing liquids.-A filter is arranged beneath the sink of a beer engine and comprises a vessel 1 having a removable strainer 7 beneath which is a lamb's wool or other filter bag 8. The vessel 1 is provided with a float valve controlled outlet 10 connected to a gauge glass 2 and a return pipe 26 to the cylinders 5 of the beer engine. The movement of the floatcontrolled valve 13 which closes the outlet 10 is limited by a cross pin 15 which cam be turned to engage slots to allow removal of the valve. A junction piece 18 which screws into the outlet 10 and forms a, seating for the valve, has a branch 19<a> connected with the gauge glass 2, which is supported by a bracket 22 and a screw clamp 24 supported on the hopper 1. A branch from junction piece 18 is connected with the cylinders 5 of the beer engine through pipe 26 and distributing pipes 31, 33 fitted with taps 34 and non-return valves 35. The unconnected branches of junction piece 18 and the fair-way fittings 30, 32 in the distributing pipes are fitted with removable caps 36.
