Check lift valves; dashpots, applications of.- A light check valve particularly applicable for use on the supply connections to gas furnaces is provided with a dashpot device so suspended as to permit the valve to seat correctly. The valve comprises a dome-shaped structure 1 of sheet metal adapted to co-operate with a seat 2 held in place by a tubular screw 8, the head 9 of which is so formed as to permit moisture to flow into a collecting chamber 13. The dashpot cylinder 4 is secured in a neck 3 formed on the valve member and engages a piston 5 suspended from the cover 6 by a flanged rod 14. A rod 10 having a head 11 is arranged in the hollow screw 8 and after removing the cap 12 can be manipulated to unseat the valve.
