Abstract
244,721. Soc. Anon. Solex. Dec. 17, 1924, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors. - In a carburettor comprising a main nozzle, at least one slow speed nozzle which delivers into a conduit e, and a throttle valve f with an enlarged peripheral portion f<1> adapted to cover the outlet, of the conduit e in the closed position of the valve and moving to open in the direction of the air flow, one or more passages f<0>, f<00>, f<000> are provided in the enlarged portion and open at one end on the suction side of the valve and at the other end at the peripheral portion. The outlet of the conduit e may be substantially in the plane of the throttle axis, Fig. 1, or on the suction or engine side thereof, Fig. 2. In a third arrangement, the forward edge of the enlarged portion or the outlet of the conduit e or both of them may be substantially in the plane through the throttle axis. With the above constructions, suction on the slow speed nozzle is maintained for a longer period, its delivery at the end of the slow speed period is increased and that towards the end of the full speed period, reduced.
