Abstract

Hand driving-mechanism. - A step-by-step movement is imparted to a toothed wheel 27 by one or more levers 34 - - 36 fulcrumed in ball- and-socket joints 32 through which they can slide. Each lever receives a circular motion which causes the free end to engage and leave the teeth of the wheel 27 successively, the other end being pivoted to a gear-wheel 19 which is driven by a gear-wheel 15 and a handle 17. A pair of levers may be connected to each wheel 19, and a number of wheels 19 may be disposed around the wheel 15, the levers operating upon a pair of toothed wheels 27 spaced apart upon a shaft 26, so that a substantially continuous motion is imparted to the shaft.
