Pedal levers, guarding. - The control levers 3 of a motor vehicle are partly enclosed in tapered sheaths 6 having the base part fixed to or fitting in the slot of the foot-board 2 and the apex part closely fitting the lever, so that in all positions of the latter the slot is closed and air or gases cannot pass through. The rear face of the sheath may be open, the lever itself closing this face when in the normal or idle position. The sheath may be of sheet metal, leather, &c., and felt edging may be provided where necessary.
