Pulverulent-fuel burners. - A burner for pulverulent fuel is of curved form and is provided with louvres so that the air and pulverized fuel are separated by centrifugal force. The burner 9 is supplied with coal and air from the pulverizer 10, the coal being deflected towards the upper curved surface of the burner which directs it downwardly into the combustion chamber. Louvres 9<1> within the burner cause the air to be projected to the bottom of the furnace, where it absorbs heat from the floor 11 and rises to meet the falling pulverized fuel.
