Abstract

Daivts. - In connection with slueing davits arranged as described in Specification 116,692 in which the axis of the davit socket 2 is inclined at a suitable angle so that the act of swinging out the boat causes the gunwale to be lowered approximately to the level of the sihp's deck, the davits 1 are connected at their extremities bv a rod which is shorter than the distance separating the the axes of the davits, and the tackles 14 which control the slueing of the davits, are secured to an inboard pillar 28 arranged at a distance from the inner gunwale of the boat when swung in, which is approximately equal to or smaller than the breadth of the boat. The lowering gears 8 are suspended near the ends of the connecting bar.
