Abstract

Fluid.actuated valves; thermally - actuated valves.-In a gas and air mixing-valve apparatus of the kind described in Specification 21847/06 and having a main slide valve 1 operated by a diaphragm 4, a controlling slide valve 12 is disposed below the main slide valve so as to operate automatically to vary the sizes of the gas and air inlet ports 2 and 3, respectively, and thereby vary the proportions of gas and air in the mixture. The controlling valve 12 may be operated by a thermal bar 8 connected by a lever 9 and rod to the valve. The bar may be heated by a flame of the gas so that the controlling valve is operated to vary the proportions of the mixture according to the calorific value of the gas used.
