Abstract
333,653. Smith, R. May 27, 1929. Fluid-actuated valves.-A valve appliance for controlling the flow of one fluid by the pressure of another, such as the flow of ignitable gas to a dental vulcanizer by the pressure of steam generated, is characterized by the combination with a Bourdon-tube pressure gauge 1 of a second Bourdon tube 4 operating the gas valve 8 through link and lever mechanism, as shown, the mechanism being adjustable to cut off the gas at any desired steam pressure. The second Bourdon tube is disposed in a concentric chamber 2 at the back of the pressure gauge, the steam supply pipe 5 being branched, as shown, to feed the two tubes 1, 4. The adjustment means comprises a spindle 13 projecting outside the gas chamber and having a crank arm 15 connected to the link 16, the spindle 13 having an external finger moving over a graduated scale. The gas inlet and outlet passages are indicated at 10 and 9, respectively.
