Abstract
238,564. Telefunken Ges. f³r Drahtlose Telegraphie, and Bronk, O. von. Aug. 14, 1924, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Vacuum tubes.-A photoelectric cell consists of a vacuous or gas-filled vessel containing an electrode K coated with selenium, and a heated filament F. The filament may form the cathode and the electrode K the anode, or a third electrode A may be connected as the anode and the electrode K as cathode. The filament mav be connected with the electrode K. Conical electrodes may be provided. The filament may consist of a material such as an oxide or thorium emitting electrons below incandescence, and may be of V-shape or formed of two parallel filaments so as to minimize the effect of shadow on the electrode K. The gas filling may be argon or neon.
