Abstract

237,823. Blomfield, A. Feb. 18, 1925. Stretchers, garment; presses.-A board 1 or the equivalent is provided with a pair of abutments engaged by a resilient, arched strip 4 over which the garment is stretched. The garment is gripped at one end by a pair of rods 8, 9 pivoted together at 11 and engaged by an eccentric roller 12. At the other end a bar 5 is carried by pivoted arms 6 and the garment is put underneath and pulled longitudinally. On releasing the garment, the bar grips it against the base board. Flexible strips 17 engaging the end-gripping rods facilitate the creasing of the garment. A drawer 18 is provided beneath the arched surface. A tie press 19 may be provided on the base board and may comprise a spring-pressed board. The gripping rods may be cut away at 20 to facilitate the prodoction of creases in trousers.
