Abstract

199,687. Lacon, W., and Beech, A. March 22, 1922. Combined presses and stretchers.-In a trouser press, comprising hinged press boards a, b and with a board E for gripping the cuff ends of the trousers as the press boards are moved toward one another, a stretcher board F is provided. This board is supported by plate springs f of such a form that as the press is being closed the stretcher board comes down on the garment and is itself pressed by the springs in the direction of the arrow to stretch the trousers before engagement by the press boards. The springs f are hinged to the board F. The board E is supported from hinged brackets d by springs and set screws. The boards a, b are provided with metal strips a<2> to which are hinged the spring pressure devices C which are described in Specification 197,795.
