Abstract

237,746. Hunter, S. Sept. 2, 1924. Smoke-tube superheaters.-In a superheater of the kind in which the elements are connected by means of ported blocks 6 to the vertical side of a header, while the header is stepped where there is a plurality of rows of connections, horizontal through apertures 10 are formed in the header between alternate saturated and superheated steam passages to receive the connecting bolts. The rear face of the header is stepped to correspond with the front or is inclined and has abutments formed on it, the steps or abutments being recessed to receive the T-heads 9 of the bolts.
