Abstract

237,238. Duchateau, J. I. July 15, 1924, [Convention date]. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and helical spring and pneumatic cushions.-A helical spring 1 secured between inner and outer rims 20, 21 is connected to yokes 4 which are pivoted to plungers 7 fitting in cylinders 6 radiating from the wheel centre. The joints at the inner rim are closed by leather collars 25. The cylinders 6 may contain compressed air: may be open to the atmosphere, through small bleed-holes; or the piston rods 7 may be hollow so that the cylinders are fully open to the atmosphere.
