Abstract

236,043. Upper Forest & Worcester Steel & Tinplate Works, Ltd., and Rowe, G. July 5, 1924. Cleaning. - In a machine for dusting and polishing tin plates &c., the plates are fed from a plate A through rubber-covered feed rollers B and then through rollers C, D covered with sheepskin &c. The plates then pass over feed rollers E on to an inclined table F from which they pass between rollers E, and polishing-rollers D, G and over rollers H on to an inclined table J. From the table J the plates pass between feed rollers H, between polishing rollers G, K over an adjustable guide plate and between polishing rollers L on to a plate or table M. The polishing rollers are rotated at a greater speed than the feed rollers, and the rollers are arranged, as shown, in zig-zag formation so as to receive the plates accurately.
