Abstract

236,012. Burbidge, F. May 16, 1924. Rigid-jaw wrenches; handles.-The head portion 5 is pivoted freely on an axis 7 transverse to the length of the handle 6 and displaced from the axis of the nut engaged in the jaw aperture 8 so that the nut may be turned by striking on the end of the handle with a hammer. Stops 11 prevent the head moving so far round that it slips off the nut, and also enable the device to be used as a lever wrench in the ordinary manner. The head may be provided with a, number of holes for connection to the handle at various points, Fig. 4 showing a head formed as a thick disc cut away at 14 to engage the bifurcated end of the handle and having two pivot holes 10.
