Cam-actuated pumps; stroke, varying; revolving-cylinder pumps. - In a valveless plunger pump for viscous liquids of the kind in which the cylinders are in a cylindrical rotor 2, the plungers being actuated by a rotating swashplate, the ball-heads 3<a> of the plungers are secured by and fit into guide rings 4, 5 held between discs 6, 7. The rings, discs and two ball bearing rings 8, 9 are secured by a single bolt 12 accessible through a plugged opening in the cover 1<a> to which the outer ring 10 is attached and which pivots on pins 16 secured to the barrel 1. The interior of the cover is hemispherical and it is centred by a spherical sleeve 15 secured to the barrel. The inclination of the swash plate is adjusted by two bolts 14 securing the cover to the barrel, and a pointer 19 on one bolt may co-operate with a scale on the cover. The centres of rotation of the cover and of the plunger heads coincide.
