Abstract

232,445. Barnett, A. June 13, 1924. Commutator switching - arrangements. - A device for rectifying alternating current comprises an insulating disc c having conducting rings d, d<1>, one on each side, the rings being connected respectively to segments f, f<2> separated by insulated segments f<1> on the periphery of the disc. The rings d, d<1> are engaged by brushes d<2>, d<3> connected respectively to opposite ends of a battery to be charged, the middle point of the battery being connected to one side of the source of alternating current supply w, the other side of which is connected to a brush q bearing on the segments on the periphery of the disc. The brushes are carried by arms e, g<1> secured to a bracket a which supports a spindLe a<1> about which a sleeve b carrying the disc c and a driving sprocket b<1> rotates.
