Abstract

372,443. Brush-holders for dynamoelectric machines. WOOD, C. A., 2, Private Drive, Hollingwood, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Feb. 24, 1931, No. 5713. [Class 35.] In a brush-holder of insulating material wherein the spring which exerts pressure on the brush is enclosed in a guideway, the spring does not carry current and is supported by an insulating bracket secured to the main part of the brush-holder. In the form shown, the spring e is enclosed in the insulating barrel g which is vertically adjustable and supported by the insulating bracket h secured to the brush-box a which is also of insulating material and can be vertically adjusted. The part k of the brush-box can be readily removed and replaced by another of different shape to accommodate brushes of different sizes.
