Abstract

Clips, pivoted-jaw.-A clip for gripping a sash cord and supporting the balancing weight by abuttal on the frame while the cord is secured to the sash, comprises a plate with a recess in which the cord engages, and an arm pivoted on the plate and moving parallel to the plane of the plate to grip the rope. The plate may be double so as to grip the end of the securing lever after it has engaged the cord. In the form shown, a sheet-metal blank 1 is bent at 1a to form the body member and the halves secured by a rivet 2 on which is pivoted the arm 3. A recess 7 in the member 1 receives the cord 9 and prongs 8 may be provided therein. The arm 3 is lowered so that the cord is gripped in the recess 7, and when the member 1 abuts on the frame, the balancing weight is held and the end of the cord can be readily secured to the sash. The arm 3 may have a recess 5 with a prong 6. When closed, the arm 3 is gripped between the halves of the sheet-metal member forming the body 1.
