679,116. Tongs. LUKASIK, J. Jan. 18, 1950 [Jan. 20, 1949], No. 1635/49. Class 61 (ii). Tongs for lifting hot dishes and other objects, comprising two pivoted levers C one of which has a pivoted gripping plate B to coact with the gripping end of the other lever, have gripping surfaces corrugated longitudinally of the levers. The levers are of U-shaped cross section the arm E being reduced in width and passed through an aperture in the other lever. A spring around the rivet C urges the arms apart. The plate B has dependent flanges by means of which it is pivoted to the arm E.
