Abstract
231,025. English Electric Co., Ltd., and Charley, R. M. May 5, 1924. Transformers.-In transformers in which the core is provided with ducts 5 for the circulation of cooling liquid, passages parallel to the plane of the laminations and communicating with the ducts and the outside of the core are provided at the upper and lower ends by omitting certa.in laminations or parts thereof. The ducts 5 are formed between inner and outer sets of laminations 1, 2 and 6, 7 and are closed at the sides by further sets of laminations 3, 4 and 8, 9. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, pairs of passages 10, 11 and 12, 17 are formed at the lower and upper ends respectively by omitting parts of the laminations 7. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, a single passage 16 is formed at each end of the core.
