Abstract

230,938. Sattler, R. Dec. 27, 1923. Guards, controlling.-In machines for printing from engraved plates comprises a reciprocating bed 5 co-operating with a segmental impression roller 25, a guard is provided comprising a bar 128 fixed on the end of a lever 129 pivoted at 130, the bar extending across the machine between the impression roller and the bed. A cam 127 fixed on the shaft 26 of the roller 25 is adapted to engages a roller 131 on the lever 129 so as to swing the bar outwardly when the roller starts rotating and remove the operator's hand.
