Abstract

May 20, 1924, Endless-chain machines.-A cutter for mining- machines comprises a stock 18, a wedge 23 adapted to bind the stock to a holder 16, and a straight cutting-tooth 29, substantially V-shaped in cross-section, clamped between the wedge and the stock, each of which is provided with a substantially V-shaped seat for the cutting-tooth. The stock is provided with a shoulder 22 which forms an abutment for one of the bevelled ends 32 of the cutting tooth and also for a shoulder 28 on the wedge,. The stock is disposed within an opening 15 in the holder 16, and is provided with teeth 19 which engage teeth on the holder, the wedge, 23 being disposed in a recess 12 in the holder and held against the stock by a set screw 14.
