Abstract
546,114. Saws. MULLER & CIE MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI AKT.-GES., A. Sept. 3, 1940, No. 13812. Convention date, Aug. 26, 1939. [Class 145 (ii)] In a saw blade of the double-pointed tooth type with a depression g, Fig. 2, between the points, the teeth have a hollow cross-section which may be limited to the front face of the teeth or may include both faces as in Fig. 5 and is formed by grinding or by direct pressing and swaging. In this way, the points f form the terminations of two lateral cutting edges which are swaged to lie outside the plane of the blade itself. These edges act on the work in advance of the transverse cutting edge formed by the depression between the cutting points and cut the separation surfaces in the work before the transverse cutting edge removes the material from the kerf.
