Hydrometers.-In a hydrometer for use with an electric storage battery, the bulb a is formed with a diaphragm b to prevent entry of the stem d of the float e into the bulb when liquid is drawn in from the cell in the usual way, the diaphragm having apertures c for the passage of air. The diaphragm also acts as a stop for the extremity of the barrel f which is inserted in the neck g of the bulb.
