Repeating and amplifying systems.-In a twoway two-wire thermionic repeater system, back coupling is avoided without the use of balancing networks by coupling the anode circuit of each valve to the grid circuit of the other in such a way that, by means of a variable resistance W, the currents in the grid circuit due to the crosscoupling N1<SP>1> are made equal and opposite to those induced through the transformer V<2>. The crosscoupling may be inductive as shown or capacitative. Specifications 21069/11 and 180,700 are referred to.
