[Class 40 (iv).] Impedance networks associated with an amplifying cord-circuit are varied in accordance with the characteristics of the junctions to which the cord-circuit is connected by pairs of relays D1, E1 ; D2, E2, connected in series between opposite poles of battery and controlled over junction-jack springs K which are connected to positive or negative potential or are insulated in accordance with the lengths of the junctions. The network in each path comprises four sections each having series and shunt resistance, the impedance of two of the sections G1, G2, being different from that of the other two H1, H2.
