Abstract

364,779. Electric signalling systems. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, MARRIS, G. C. and ESPLEY, D. C., of General Electric Co., Wembley, Middlesex. Dec. 5, 1930, No. 36714. [Class 40 (i).] In a system in which signalling is effected by voice frequency currents, the signals are amplified by indirectly heated valves with their filaments connected in series, the whole of the station battery being used for the filament and plate circuits. Four different frequencies are used in the embodiment described, the signals being received over circuit 1, pass through the appropriate filter network 3, are amplified by valves 5 and 7 and operate the appropriate relay 8 which controls contacts 9. The filaments of the valves are connected in series across the station battery, a resistance 13 being inserted in the circuit to compensate for the difference between the total filament voltage and the battery voltage. The battery also feeds the plate circuits.
