Abstract

227,705. Evans, H. W. May 20, 1924. Stationary - mould machines. - Comprise free-wheel driving mechanism, provided with means whereby the constantly - rotating driving member may be connected at will with the driven member and is automatically disconnected after a predetermined angular movement, for use in the machine described in Specification 227,704. Tubular rollers e are adapted to be wedged in tapering recesses between a disclike driven member a keyed to the shaft b and an annular driving gearwheel c. Rods g pass axially through the rollers e and connect cheek-plates f disposed on either side of the clutch elements. Notches j, k, l formed in the peripheries of the cheek-plates are adapted to be engaged by a pawl or detent m whereby the rollers e are retarded and disconnection effected whilst the annular gear c continues to rotate. The pawl m is carried by a shaft n which may be rocked (by hand) to restart the machine. A roller p in an oppositelyinclined recess may be provided to prevent overrunning.
