Abstract
225,375. Pitt, H. C. Nov. 26, 1923. Pile-fabric looms.-Apparatus for lubricating pile wires comprises a wax candle f carried by a tube or cylinder e and moved by a spring g into contact with an angle piece h. The tube e is carried by a plate c<2>, which is acted upon by a lever carrying a wire j<1>. As the pile wire hook a moves to take a pile wire, it engages the wire j' and operates the lever j thereby depressing the plate c<2> and the tube e against the action of a spring m, which elevates the tube e into contact with the wire when this is withdrawn by the wire hook. A ratchet wheel on the tube is rotated by a spring-controlled pawl actuated by a fixed cam as the tube is lowered, so that the tube is rotated step by step to bring different parts of the candle into the path of the wires.
